Just look at this thread. How many people in this thread are acting superior to her because she has an only fans or because of some other stupid reddit reason. The people are acting “high valued” and superior even if they dont say it. She’s literally using this comment to tell readers that these peoples opinions have no influence on her life, and all its doing is making them more upset. To me, that’s why this comic is funny

Just look at this thread. People are out in force acting superior to her and putting her down for having an only fans. Theyre providing unsolicited feedback, acting “high valued” without even realize theyre doing it. This comic is showing how she sees the unsolicited feedback from these people on the internet, and calls it out as it is, inconsequential to her life. And what do those very same people do? Get even more upset.

Frankly, i knew nothing about this lady before this thread happened. It’s been a wild ride for me to follow

  • If you have morals and standards, its not hard to take a stance on every issue. If you support education, it doesnt take much looking into anything about education to understand how decisions fit into your worldview. And even if you support some aspects of one side and some from the other, you still have to pick a side because welcome to Americas 2 party system.

My experience with many users on lemmy who support “critical thinking” are not actually advocating critical thinking. Theyre trying to justify their mental gymnastics while simultaneously feeding their self-righteous egos

It really depends on what you specialized in and what you want to do. If youre in engineering and your university gets funding from a company, can be an easy path to employment.

That said, in general, the type of person who wants a phd doesn’t always have the same mindset as someone who doesnt. A big part of engineering in practice is realizing when you have enough information to make a decision and how to quickly and cheaply obtain that information, and that doesn’t always align with the work scope that gives the best information.

  • I feel the same way. Im 1 phase removed, but have been very lucky in dodging them too.

01 i was in high school, 08 i was in college with minimal expenses. I was paying $975 per quarter for room and board including 9 prepare meals a week and had enough school ships that my quarterly tuition was also under $1000, coupled with an engineering coop 1/2 the year, i came out financially ahead.

Covid i was a salaried essential worker who had to work 3 days a week but still got paid full salary. That made the lack of available child care bearable. I also had a house that i purchased with 3.25% mortgage.

This next one im feeling already. I moved for my wifes job this year, so that new mortgage rate sucks
