Private businesses engage in extremely risky enterprises everyday, it’s why things like explicit liability exist. The issue with something like this is their cost benefit analysis tells them that succeeding would create diminishing rates of return. Solving fusion reaction for the purposes of generating electricity eliminates a form of scarcity. Scarcity or manufactured scarcity is the only thing that enables corporations to continually increase profits.
Even in religious circles the forgiveness part is normally left out. The phrase often repeated is “Jesus died for your sins” without any mention of forgiveness. Since that is the common turn of phrase then this depicts children suffering/dying because of the sins of someone else.
When my dad died my wife, myself, and our two boys, moved in with my mom because she has no idea how to take care of normal life stuff. My brother lives in the same property as her and couldn’t be bothered to check in on her because he was, understandably, distraught. For two years of living there my mom leaned on me but only ever asked me once how I was doing, my wife only ever complained about living there and never asked how I was doing, yet insisted we should stay if I suggested leaving. I have three super close friends, and I don’t think I would have made it without them.
Check in on your friends, even when they’re not going through something traumatic, because you may be the only one who does.

Ironically he hates playing it because of all the extra rules, but loves creating characters because of all the extra rules. Writing that out I think I just realized if I take out BAB progression and replace it with proficiency bonuses and have multi attack rules just be 5e rules I think all his issues would evaporate.
I would be, but one of our friends has decided that 5e is the only system he wants to play, and we all love him too much to play without him. We don’t hate 5e, we just don’t love it.
Back in my day we got an extra attack at 6th, 11th, and 16th level, and each one was at a cumulative -5 penalty, AND WE LIKED IT!
And yet they invented the sticky toffee pudding. Two extremes
I live in her district. She is an obvious Russian agent. I got a call from her campaign before her first election and they asked me “How important is improving trade and diplomatic relations between the US and Russia to you as a voter?”
Yeah, labor protections in the US are long past due for an upgrade, and if they can’t strike then the process needs to be weighted in the workers favor a lot more.
Unfortunately he followed the law. The Railway Labor Act of 1926 prevents railroad workers from striking. They instead have to follow the exact process that was followed and continue working while in negotiation. As a rail worker, to go on strike is to quit your job.
Edit: After rereading, the RLA 1926 will allow for “self-help” remedies after a minimum of 60 days have elapsed from the time the National Mediation Board begins it’s process. This allows 30 days of NMB mediation, followed by 30 days for a Presidential Emergency Board investigation, either of which can be extended and with the caveat that
The NMB can keep the parties in mediation indefinitely, so long as it feels there is a reasonable prospect for settlement.
I just hope I live to see a day when a grandchild asks me to tell them about how the Swifties defeated homegrown fascists and saved us all from the republican party and their enablers. I finally feel like the work is paying off and we can make some progress as a species, and for historians to remember Taylor Swift as the one who helped tip the scales it would make my day.
Garden cord has a slightly thicker shielding because it is designed to be outside for extended periods.
You are absolutely right, and I have always got buy in from players, I just never thought about how badly things could have gone if I hadn’t been doing that so I have edited my comment. For narrative reasons I always think players should have a say in their characters death, it helps me as a DM and can lead to fantastic world building opportunities. Thankfully I’ve never killed a PC without consent for that reason.
I play versions of myself in a fantasy setting. I emphasize a particular part of my personality and give them funny voices, so no one has caught on. Thankfully people tend to like me for some reason, and therefore my characters, but that is why I always forget to make the player versus player character distinction.
Played a control/support wizard for almost two years. Died to a power word kill and BBG used his soul as a bargaining chip. Party was too full of themselves and newer players, they called his bluff, my wizard was perma dead. The rest of the session was them as players and characters coming to terms with his death. It was god damn beautiful and one of my favorite memories in gaming.
Please DMs, kill your players player’s characters. For the character development.
Edit: being neurodivergent I sometimes forget that people can have personal feelings that I find illogical, so as the comment under mine says; please make sure your player or players are not going to be traumatized if you kill their characters. As a DM I have always done this, because even if they are killed off I want the players input on how it goes, but that is for narrative reasons and I had not considered how badly it could have gone if I hadn’t been asking. I have never been asked by a DM, it just doesn’t bother me because to me it is a part of the fun and magic of TTRPGs.
Should be. Won’t be. They’re only ashamed of the things their fascist leaders tell them to be ashamed of.
Right wing ideology is and always has been based on maintaining control of the poor and working class, oppressing “undesirables” in order to further that control, and maintaining the power of the ruling class. In the case of Disney they are attempting to further marginalize the groups they have deemed “undesirable” by publicly attacking a member of the ruling class that is not pushing the party’s agenda as fervently as they want it to.
Because the idea that there are vegans and vegetarians is an implied accusation of guilt to people that eat meat and animal products that are the direct result of animal suffering. Some people that don’t eat animal products might be militant or preachy, but I’ve never met one. In fact I have only ever met the inverse, people that constantly berate people for being vegan or vegetarian. Having been one myself, I can say that for me and people I know it is the same reason religious people hate atheists; their existence implies that people that eat meat are wrong and therefore bad people. Studies have confirmed this. Here is an article from the BBC that goes over some of the studies.
