their problem isn’t about being gendered, it’s about their insecurities of their own gender. if we make them question what a man or woman is then they lose a sense of themselves because their fragile identity is wrapped up in being a “man” or a “woman”.
what they don’t see past all the fear is that they have the right to be who they want to be, but so do we.
