    Keeping animals in captivity, sexually violating them, killing them, and commodification of them are all rights violations. It’s not baseless just because you disagree.

      for people who believe in rights, most of them don’t believe animals have any. i don’t believe in rights at all, so this line of argument is falling pretty flat.

        Just because you don’t believe in rights doesn’t mean an argument is flat. Rights movements pave way for social acceptance and improve the treatment of victims.

              i don’t believe in rights. so appealing to rights, when trying to convince me of your moral position, is absurd.

                Rights movements pave more than rights. They encourage people to be more respectful, mindful, and kind.

                  i think you are misunderstanding me. if i said i don’t believe in god, and you argue that the bible demands i be vegan, you can see how i would say “right. but i don’t believe in the bible.” the same thing here.
