Morpheus: “Free… your… mind “ as he jumps an impossible gap between two high rise buildings.
Neo: “aww hell naw.”
Wild Wild West was a good movie, IMO it was just ahead of its time.
It was a reprisal of a tv show from the ‘60s. Maybe after its time?
GIANT MECHANICAL SPIDER.
That is all.
Jon Peters, one of the producers, had been trying to shoehorn a giant spider into a movie for quite some time. It wasn’t that he thought it particularly needed to be in Wild, Wild West. He just wanted one, so he tried to get it written into every movie he was involved with until he finally succeeded. Hearing that really helped me understand the rest of that movie.
Oh yeah. He was desperate to get that big ol robot spider in the never filmed Tim Burton Superman movie starring Nicholas Cage too. Weird spider fetish ya got there Jon Peters
…We’re going straight~! TooOo~! The oracle now~!
I’m imaging the alternative timeline:
Will Smith is Neo in The Matrix and it doesn’t do well and is the only entry in the series.
Keanu Reeves stars in The Wild Wild West and it ends up being a well received movie and spans 2 sequels and an anime spinoff and a 4th sequel nearly 20 years later that isn’t as well received.
Wonder what these sequels would have been like.
Thank fucking <deity>.
<insert diety here> was definitely looking out for us. I’ll celebrate this weekend at <insert place of worship here> and with a month-long <insert label for religious adherence to diet, clothing, and activities>
Yeah, imagine living in a world where Wild Wild West was never made.
