There are quicker ways to get this shit stain out of office.

The trump administration has already started establishing a new slave trade system with El Salvador, so it’s entirely plausible that they would consider enslaving the Palestinians also. I cannot fucking believe the speed with which we are dropping into dystopia.
After seeing this sentiment expressed for the 50th time on similar threads, I’m more convinced than ever that: 1.) Many Democrats prefer beating up their left flank to actually opposing Republican ideology, 2.) Many Democrats are somehow pleased that the genocide is proceeding in this fashion because they both get to genocide Palestinians and beat up on their left flank. If Kamala had won, they would have only been able to enjoy half of these pastimes.
If foreign actors were breaking into these systems, in the same manner that Musk and his cadre of techno brownshirts are right now, they would be dragged out into the street and executed.
The least we can do is hold this administration accountable for who these people are and what steps are being taken to document what they are doing and what security measures are being followed. Of course none of that is being done. The brownshirts are anonymous, unvetted and unaccountable. Their actions are not being documented. They are not following any security procedures. Remember the years of outrage Fox and its NPC audience lathered on about the security implications of Hillary’s private email server? What is happening right now is many orders of magnitude more dangerous and insecure and illegal. It has profound and direct implications for every American right now.
We need to stop hoping for a legal resolution to the violence being perpetrated by this administration and its private wrecking crew headed by Elon Musk. We need to identify the actors, dox them. Physically intervene if needed. Every fucking elected Democrat should be spitting into a microphone, today.
Again, imagine a foreign actor riffling through these sensitive systems. If you take comfort in knowing that the president and Musk would never let a foreign actor have such access, then you should be more freaked out than anyone given the unaccountable way this is going down. How do you know that Musk’s organization isn’t compromised?
Let me get this straight. This is the “free speech absolutist” doing this, right?
A couple weeks ago I drove past a Tesla dealership in Northern California. They must have had a dozen of these dumpsters lined up out front.
Thing is, when we actually empower Democrats they don’t really do much of anything anyway. So the ‘lesser’ argument is getting tired. Thanks DNC.
This is terrorism and people need to start treating it that way. The State of California should seriously start considering seizure of federal lands and facilities within our territory.
The state should also start negotiating treaties directly Canada, Mexico and China that circumvent the petty and counterproductive economic warfare enacted by the administration.
The lesson here is to never start advertising on that platform. You’re less likely to be sued by Musk if you never start advertising in the first place. Advertising on his platform is an unnecessary risk for your business:
So, should I then attribute their collective inaction, lack of planning, and capitulation to malice instead?
It’s my understanding that his voice condition may very well have been caused by his heroin use.
There’s not much room at Guantanamo. They are really going to have to CONCENTRATE those people into that CAMP.
But, he and his supporters keep telling me that they restored free speech.
Every time I look at this dude, he looks like five giant cockroaches scrambling around inside a human suit.
Exactly. People and media need to realize what looking glass we have just traveled through.
That ruling removes any kind of criminal check on the president.
Theoretically there is still a congressional check, via impeachment, but we have learned that is not terribly viable given how difficult it is to convict.
There is the check provided by the 25th amendment, but again, the hurdle is so large that it may not be viable.
Of course there is also a political check, via elections and the 22nd amendment, but that takes years to kick in under the best circumstances, and has limited immediate influence on a second term president.
There is also violence. The president could be checked by an assassin, for example. But that is extremely unlikely.
Under the rules, the president has a limited scope of action as you’ve described. The problem arises when the president decides to overstep those rules, violate laws, or do things that the constitution assigns to other branches. We are in a situation where the checks on such overreach are vanishingly weak as described above. trump is already attempting such violations, such as with the freeze yesterday. Yes, a court has intervened for now, but there is every reason to believe that will be reversed or overturned. But, even if it isn’t, consider what happens if the president chooses to violate the courts ruling.
I understand that the president can’t literate do anything. But no king in history has ever actually has unlimited power and we are in the early days of this new imperial presidency. This is a group project between all three branches. Both congress and the court are working diligently to enshrine the president as a king and the populace has shown little willingness to resist any of this. I would argue that we are effectively there already, but I suppose there are a few remaining hypothetical threads holding him back.
According to the Supreme Court, he is a king. I do not know why everyone hasn’t been absolutely freaking out about that ruling since it came down. According to that court, he is allowed to do literally anything as long as it’s an official act. This is not a rules-based society anymore.
Just fucking kill him already.
If this was a rules-based society, yes. It isn’t.
