1·3 days agoWhatever you get make sure it has more than a couple years left of software update support. This sort of narrows the field, and you don’t need to go Samsung for the full 5-7years or w/e their newest lines will have, but make sure it’s not essentially software EOL in the next couple years. Look for more like 3-5y out.

I’ll assume this is a very European take, and point out that Europeans don’t even ever eat peanuts or peanut butter anyways as it was written off as colonist fodder unfit for their ‘queenly’ pallette. They also don’t like corn, which has the juice, so like yea man we know their tastes are stuck in like the 18th century. Go on darling, have your fermented herring and duck pate 😬 we’ll continue actually using the spices and flavors from the new world

1·1 month agoWas this written with AI? The whole point of the video was simply that the original ‘paper’ about Dyson Spheres was very clearly a joke at the early SETI projects expense, even according to the man who wrote it. You can think whatever you want about the merits of them in a futurist context.

Lol my mom used to tell me she’d come home exhausted from work and wouldn’t know what she was going to feed us, so she’d just put some garlic and onions in a pan to fry while she wound down and figure it out as she went. She said the smell at least made it seem like she had it all figured out, to us anyway

Anecdotal, but from my time in school most people actually did. AP US history was the straw that broke the camel’s back for all of the stu-co honors society top 15 kids I had that class with. The most hated class, just absolutely whinging about the sheer onerousness of the exam and study guide. My theory has always been their heads were already full to the brim with memorizing the physics and maths and other classes’ materials. History is just too much to memorize and regurgitate like that, it requires thinking, and a lot of it. I came away from that experience with the understanding that a lot of people fucking hate thinking any more than they have to, even (or especially) a-political folks. Loved that class, we had an excellent teacher too. S-tier teacher, really cool guy.
