  • Here’s a simple suggestion – Stop cramming more houses into places where there are already tons of people.

Can’t be a problem with NIMBY-ism, if you’re in nobodies back yard at all!

The whole point of cars and personal transportation is that you can fill all of these empty places with your housing, and these people can drive to where they want to go on their own schedules. It’s not that hard.

We don’t need to cram another 10k houses onto the golf-course where people like the fact that they can’t spit out of their back window and hit their neighbors house.

Better yet - Mandate city-centers for every [X] population so that the people don’t have to drive half way across the state for their job too.

  • Last game I preordered was World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and I stood in line for 12 hours to make sure I was the very first to have it. Haven’t preordered any game since then. They weren’t distributed digitally back then, so running out of ‘copies’ was a real thing.

Now, I perpetually buy games that are 1-2 years old. They’ve been patched, they’ve been balanced, they’re stable, and I can watch someone on Twitch beforehand to decide if it’s worth purchasing.

  • Hell yeah. When I met my wife, she was overweight and all her previous relationships had ended because of her Ichthyosis. It’s a bad skin condition which makes her have scales all over (or at least mostly all over) – she doesn’t have the WORST kind, but she was kind and loving; but very emotionally damaged from it. We’ve been together 20 years now, and now she’s the super skinny one, and the skin condition has never bothered me. Now I am the one getting the looks like “How’d this ugly mother fucker bag HER?!”

Looks is great and all, but it’s not everything. And Marriage isn’t a picnic either - you gotta be stupidly open and honest to not let any secrets brew between you. She’s my best friend and honestly I couldn’t live without her.

  • PETG just is a pain in the ass sometimes. Really sensitive to moisture, and it loves to stick to hot metal. So it has a tendency to overextrude because of the steam, and bunch up on the nozzle, causing all sorts of havok.

The key to printing it is just keeping it dry – the latest batches I’ve held feel like they’re way softer than I remember, so I suspect mfgs are putting more glycol in it than before.

Also, do a sanity check and go back and print PLA from time to time. Sometimes you won’t realize something else is wrong and you’ll blame it on the filament, but something like the idler arm on the extruder is broken, etc.

You can print it on Textured PEI, or Glass - but I suggest putting a little glue stick down to act as a release agent on the PEI - PETG and PEI bond together too well in some instances (ESPECIALLY on smooth PEI)
