In 10 years of living on the west coast I had experienced 1.5 years of that under fire weather.

Fire weather for those who don’t know, is the most fucked up and toxic environment you can live through. The smell is a strong campfire. It’s snowing ash. And sometimes it’s so bad you have to wear a mask in the house. A P100 mind you.

In 2020 I spent 12 weeks under fire weather through COVID.

That was it for me.

When I drove back east, we had smoke all the way up to eastern Arkansas.

Over 10% of my last 10 years were miserable due to climate change. And it’s only getting worse.

It will be for you too.

I’ve been saying this for two decades. They should have never stopped the anti-pollution campaigns. I don’t remember why they stopped but they kind of just disappeared. Give a hoot don’t pollute was a great early meme. But it’s true, climate change isn’t palpable to the under educated. Pollution IS.

While this was originally made by Boeing they are NOT the maintainers. Lockheed Martin and Dynacorp maintain certain LRUs on the Apache including power units. The power units in my day were done by Dyncorp which is now defunct.
