Frieren is so good at so many levels it’s insane.
Even before anime it was already regarded as an absolutely amazing story. For me it just hits perfectly with the melancholy and the concept of passage of time but it also has well made fight scenes.
The anime adaptation is insane because a certain talented director saw that and thought: I must assemble all the geniuses in the industry and create a masterpiece of adaptation. And that madlad did it.
Frieren is a perfect example of how adaptations should be made. It takes a concept and expands on it in a way that makes sense only in anime form.
For example the Fern and Stark dance scene was so detailed and beautifully animated yet in manga it was a few panels. Same with some fight scenes. From one panel to an absolutely stunning sequence.
I’m not even going to talk about attention to details and music.
I watched the show and was impressed, then I watched YouTube videos analyzing the show and was stunned how many details I missed.
Yeah it really deserves no. 1 spot on anime rankings.

That part really got me lol
Now ufotable just has to release “Girl’s work”
Awesome! Considering how much time has passed since last season and how MAPPA was dead silent for so long I was sure this movie is cancelled and we’re just waiting for bad news.
Glad I was wrong.
Saga no tame ni!
Idk why but this show feels so good after a hard day at work…
Also the hero fell in love…
Awesome! I was wondering what kind of mushroom it was.
With every episode I love this series even more. The whole party now has such a comfy atmosphere that it’s really a blessing for this wonderful world.
As someone who watched the original anime from 2008 and read LNs I can tell you that there’s a lot to uncover. While in my opinion animation is better than it was in 2008, I feel it lacks that bit of magic original had. Opening is good, though I liked old one more. As for story coin plot is just a beginning. There’s going to be a lot more of those and every one of them is really thought out. Lawrence is not like those 200 IQ protagonists that are always 10 steps ahead. He’s just a quite smart human, not more than that. He will have his ups and downs. Overall a very well written character. It will be clear by the end of the season or even sooner.
Honestly surprised not many people mentioned Bokuyaba S2 (The Dangers in My Heart). It’s a really good rom-com.
Not many series had such a great character development.
For me it’s in the top 3 of this season alongside Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries.
Thanks for the shout out @wjs018@ani.social!

With how confident Natsuko became it was bound to happen but seriously man, they didn’t have to make it such a cliffhanger…
