  • Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.

As per the wikipedia definition, it does seem the USA has been fascist towards the rest of the world, just not towards its own citizens (overtly) until now…

So if we agree fascism can apply internationally but not domestically (which is not usually how the term is described) then the meme is accurate

For me personally, it was all about balance.

15 years ago, Gmail/Inbox was a great email client, the domain was great and popular (so no need to spell it out for people) and I would “pay” by getting ads based on my emails read by a bot.

Now Gmail is a terrible email client, the best updates are ridiculous things like moving buttons around and it takes Google years to roll out. The thing loses emails, mislabels and misclassifies stuff and the rules work for a week then blow up. On top of that, google is now basically a proctologist considering how far up my ass they want to go

The balance is broken… Google now officially sucks (IMO)

  • Think of it this way…

You take all your money and you have a lawyer form a charity (no tax) that you control. The charity rakes in even more money and all they make (via investment) is tax free (or practically so)

Meanwhile, since you are employed by that charity, it pays for your mansions, trips, fancy foods, vacations, yachts, whatever you want… Basically it is like having a rich daddy that buys everything for you and you never have to worry about money

  • I find breaking the momentum (good or bad) is the hard part.

Since last year I adopted a “work all week, play all weekend” strategy; I basically work my 8 to 4, then immediately start working around the house, in projects, in hobbies, anything. I set myself a 7 pm warning to start wrapping up so I don’t leave a mess behind, shower and chill until it’s time for bed.

On weekends it’s all fun stuff unless we need to do some special project around the house that could not be done during the week (usually some gardening stuff).

On the exercise front, I run 3 to 5 KM 3 times a week and literally play with some dumbbells also 3 times a week (usually during boring “listen only” meetings)

I have never accomplished more and felt progress than before. Now that the rhythm is going, I get restless if I can’t do stuff (say due to weather or other commitments). Just yesterday my wife told me not to do as planned because we are undergoing a heat wave and it was “horrible” outside, yet I couldn’t contain myself and decided to do what I could… I ended up completing the task of removing an old shurb we wanted to get rid of and I slept great with a sense of accomplishment and a bit of “good pain” from all the exercise
