Fascism is when you destroy Nazi Germany and end the Holocaust which the Nazis started, rescuing countless Jews and other people from Nazi death camps. I am extremely historically literate.

South Koreans generally don’t have an issue with their northern siblings, but they hate China, Japan, and to a lesser extent, the USA.

The USA is 100% a fascist dictatorship from the perspective of working class BIPOC both within and without its borders. If you are rich and/or white and cisgender, it’s a representative democracy.

The DPRK is popular in the ROK, but it’s hard for me to see North or South Koreans supporting another Korean War. Most South Koreans, in my experience (lived there for years and married one as an ESL teacher) view Japan, the USA, and (sadly) China as the enemy.

I watched and loved the entirety of DS9 and never thought that Sisko did anything wrong. Maybe I should rewatch, I don’t know.

Are you me? My partner is from South Korea, and her parents grew up under a fascist dictatorship and were literal slaves (one is a small business owner now, the other is basically his live-in domestic servant). They’ve actually been really nice to me but they abused their kids pretty severely. My spouse likes them (from a distance—she has a harder time with them in person), refuses to go to therapy, and is basically a Berner who hates China. Other than that she’s pretty cool though.
