There are so many popular issues that also make trump look terrible that biden could run on. Abortion, climate change, hating nazis, raising the minimum wage, expanding workers rights, LGBT rights, the actions of the FTC to reign in big business. He’s got so many talking points to really be effective against trump and he’s instead doing Hillary’s campaign strategy of “Well yeah, look at that guy?”.

Back when I bought mine (2018) they were pretty much the best in the business for EVs. There really weren’t other options and Elon wasn’t flirting with nazis. Now? Buy something else (or at very least don’t buy a new tesla or used from tesla). Hundai’s iconiqs look quiet nice.

The problem with such statements is the energy costs are nowhere near fixed. The amount of energy needed to play a song on my iPod shuffle through a wired headset is wildly different from the power needed to play that same song on my TV through my home theater equipment.

The same is true on the backend. The amount of power Google spends serving up a wildly popular band is way less than what they burn serving up an unknown Indy band’s video. That’s because the popular band’s music will have been pre-optimized by Google to save on bandwidth and computing resources. When something is popular, it’s in their best interests to reduce the computational costs (ie power consumption) associated with serving that content.

Even with a pure fossil fuel grid, EVs still end up producing less CO2 than ICE vehicles. However, grids aren’t pure fossil fuels which means EVs are far cleaner than Fossil fuel vehicles. Especially in my current circumstance.

Less than 8% of energy consumption in the US comes from renewable energy. Another 8% come from nuclear.

No, no, no, the CEO runs the charity free of charge. That allows the charity to pay for their flights to the Caribbean and it rents the CEO’s yacht there (at a discount of course) so the CEO can charitably give a talk about how being poor sucks to potential donors. Of course the charity needs to pay for fuel and food, that’s only fair for the value given by the wonderful presentation given by the CEO.

And in the worst cases, it’s a grift for the wealthy. Where the charities exist to do scammy things like pay the founder to fly to luxury resorts to give a talk about why poverty is bad. Or to fund your family members solar manufacturing company. Or to put fuel into your church’s private jet so you don’t run the risk of catching demons from the public.

We’ve had politicians with clear signs of dementia still being elected years after those signs show up. Ronald Reagan was said to have very clear signs of dementia in the run for his second term.

The only thing that will keep Trump off the ballot at this point is his death. He could be catatonic in a wheel chair and he’ll still be on the ballot. There’s simply no mechanism the RNC could pull even if it wanted to to keep him off the ballot.

They can’t, like legally and literally. The RNC rules are setup without super delegates and they can’t backport those in right before the convention.

Literally the only thing that would keep him off the ballot is if either he dies (which will be a HUGE clusterfuck) or a court ruling finds him ineligible to hold office (which, he just won cases keeping him off the ballot so that’s really unlikely).

He could be drooling on stage while actively shitting his depends, he’s still going on the ballot. That was 1000% on display with Dianne Feinstein, for literally years, she showed very clear signs of dementia/Alzheimer’s.

And the scary thing is that none of this will stop Trumpers from voting for him. They’d write his name in even if he does die.

IMO, battery swaps are the wrong priority. To get them reasonably working you need standardized batteries and a way to identify wear on the battery to figure out the discount or extra charge (wouldn’t be fair if I could swap a battery with 30% degradation for one that’s brand new).

What we really need is more L2 or L1 chargers. They are a lot cheaper to install and for 90% of drivers they can deliver enough juice to get people where they need to be.

Put them in every office parking lot and grocery store lot and suddenly EVs become a lot more feasible as daily commuter vehicles (particularly for apartment dwellers).

Fast charging is only needed for long distance traveling.
