See my previous post…
It’s better to be safe than sorry is all I’m saying.
Also 3 separate cases have been posted above. Just continue ignoring those, I guess.

My brother and a buddy both have Alexas. And yeah, I hate being anywhere near the thing.
If no proof is offered (in either direction), then the proposition can be called unproven, undecided, inconclusive, an open problem or a conjecture.
Stating that you don’t think that it’s possible is irrelevant. It’s either happening or it isn’t. True or false. P or ¬P.
is extremely unlikely to be true in my opinion.
Is an argument from ignorance. Not trying to be rude, but this is basic logic.
Yeah, but it’s rooted and running a custom ROM ;)
This is why jailbreaking/rooting your phone is so important.
It’s better to be safe than sorry is all I’m saying.
Edit: There’s also this.
This has always blown my mind. Watching people willingly allow Big Brother-esque devices into their home for very, very minor conveniences like turning on some gimmicky multi-colored light bulbs. Now they’re literally using home “security” cameras that store everything on some random cloud server. I’ll truly never understand.
The first rule of Usenet is: You don’t speak of Usenet. They like being kept off the radar, but braggers can’t help but bring it up every opportunity they get.
Exactly, removing birthright citizenship should only be possible through a constitutional convention. It’s not up to SCOTUS what parts of the constitution we do and don’t recognize.
Now they just need to take down Moe Rogaine’s podcast.
Just because I mentioned one scenario and didn’t mention another, very specific scenario doesn’t mean I ruled it out completely. And yes, that is a straw man, see Nutpicking.
You’re also giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that the encryption is implemented properly. Which is something the NSA has botched before and could very well be used to ground allied aircraft during joint operations. Which, again, would be stupid.
You might want to give this a read, then re-read my original post. I never said there wasn’t a backdoor, just that it would be stupid.
That’s not what I said, at all.
PS - I work in InfoSec (CISSP). Please tell me more about what I’ve been doing for past 20 years lol
I really need to re-watch that show. But I can’t stand all of the useless bickering lol
BAE Systems (in the UK) has full F-35 manufacturing capabilities. The Brits could tell them to toss it any day now and I wouldn’t be surprised, with the way things are going.
“then we’ll, unfortunately, know what the impediment is to peace here.”
Like we didn’t already know that (see: Russia’s initial invasion). But facts and reason don’t matter to these clowns.
Not a fan of speculation and we’re likely to never see any official documentation, considering it’s a military aircraft.
But I will say: If it is true, it’s probably the dumbest thing you could do to an advanced fighter like this. Just imagine that you’re in a conflict, then the enemy hacks your command and control systems and disables/hijacks all of your aircraft. Yeah, that’s pretty dumb.
Even the Star Trek writers realized this sort of thing is a bad idea.
Personally I just check the AP every morning and watch PBS News Hour over dinner if it’s on. But I will poke around on Hacker News and NewsNow if I’m bored, which does have an option to check multiple sources like you mentioned (it’s the stacked orange squares thing next to every headline). Both are 100% free.
And +1 for Ars Technica, I see them writing about right to repair a lot. Which I’m a huge supporter of.
Mad.
Edit: They’ve edited both of their previous posts to re-frame the argument after the fact and removed a personal attack. Classy.
