  • If the Democrats didn’t want this outcome then they should have run a better campaign. That’s the point of this. Harris was asked at one point how her policy towards Palestine would differ from Biden’s and her response was she couldn’t think of anything.

Not to mention Harris embraced the 2016 Trump border wall proposal and openly campaigned with the endorsement of Liz Cheney. Her most disgusting moment to me was when asked if trans people should have access to gender affirming care, in the context of individual states banning trans healthcare, her response was “I believe we should follow the law.”

Yeah great campaign. Truly a person who wanted to win

  • At no point were the Nazis close to winning. After the Soviets won the battle of Stalingrad in 1943 the Nazis were on full retreat until Berlin got captured.

Even leading up to up 1943, Germany had its oil nearly cut off. They became dependent on Romania for their supply. This may sound like a cartoon, but Nazis were dragging their tanks to the frontline using horses.

Germany simply did not have the industrial or logistic capacity to win WW2 at any point. The Nazis had already ransacked the German economy through privatization reforms and selling off anything that wasn’t nailed down. Invading Poland incurred a bunch of sanctions and embargos that resulted in Germany’s only primary oil trade coming from uhhh…the Soviet Union, so the Nazis had the brilliant idea of declaring war on their main source of gasoline.

it’s literally mentioned that Mark Mothersbaugh bought the ruby before carving it. It’s supposed to be a joke about the type of person who’d buy such a thing, well look in the mirror. imagine trying to make a mockery of rich people and this is the avenue you do it with

I used to like Devo. I still like their 70s stuff but they’ve never been as subversive as they claim to be.

  • I really respect the area of Kerala and its commitment to their public. Very robust educational system, healthcare, and a focus on access to clean water. That’s just from stuff I’ve seen and read though, I’ve never been to India, I’m American.

I hope the best for India’s future, but it seems worrying from what I hear. I would hope for greater collaboration with China and an easing of tensions with Pakistan. India is a massively diverse place though, with multiple languages and even multiple writing scripts, so sometimes it’s amazing it’s a functional country at all.

Most of what I hear though is about India dominated by very right wing movements, but there’s a strong history of Indian working class movements as well. I’ll try to be optimistic about the future. Also as an American I am fully aware of my country’s horrifying exploitation of the Indian people. The Union Carbide disaster is still the worst industrial accident in history and its impact should never be forgotten
