Oh man this just awakened the memory of the “Big Dawg” stores. Actual stores that were ONLY big dawg merch shirts, hats, and pants.

First comment to get a cringe out of me as I thought of the spiky pedals. Congrats
Good. Let’s go, round two baby, ride this wave all the way to the bottom
Is it rotating weekly? If this is so common then what is the benefit of this? Like surely just keeping your employees constantly confused/off balance during their shift isn’t good
I had a job that rotated, but it was quarterly, and it was so nobody got “stuck” on nights/days.

In universe I want to guess they added pressure to the back side of the system to balance out the water vs air pressure since it’s part of the training system. That said, it was probably just movie magic bs.
I mean to an extent, it is a self fulfilling prophecy. Whether or not it’s the case, it’s often felt my men that they have to be the breadwinner, or at least the point of strength. They can have people around them that tell them otherwise, but if they don’t feel like they measure up then that’s what it will be.
People don’t often just commit suicide because they’re like “I guess this is how the math works out”, they felt, or were told, or told themselves, that things can only be better if they’re gone. In every case, they won’t be, but that’s where their mental journey led them
Not to belittle it on either side but I do wonder what causes that disparity. Is it that men plan it more thoroughly or have access to more dangerous methods? Do women choose methods that, unintentional or not, can be backed out of more easily? Are women more likely to report a failed attempt than men? If that 2-3x factor is true, then why don’t we see similar numbers of idk completion? I hesitate to say success because it is very much not a success to commit suicide, there are always other options, even if they’re not perfect.
That’s the funny part, if I’m the owner, I can do whatever I want. “It’s a must”? Too bad, it’s my restaurant and I want to sit here. “You’re being rude to a customer” I’m being rude to this customer, too bad.
It sucks because there’s a lot about the ending (I’ll be as spoiler free as possible) but the ending basically being “And then nothing happened” is kind of the point. It’s meant to be bittersweet, because the story is about escapism but that ultimately you have to come back to reality eventually. The ending does the big lead up of oh man there’s a big fantasy and heres the happy ever after. but throughout the whole game it repeats over and over that things aren’t as magic and wild as you want it to be, that sometimes there’s a simple, boring, and sometimes sad explanation, and at the end of the day reality is the only thing that stays.
Firewatch is definitely more of a “reflecting philosophy” game than a straight up “gamer story” game.
A smaller switch would be a terrible idea. They’re already pushing so hard to have mainstream games on the console, and those games have UI elements that can only get so small before they’re useless. You’d have to develop your UI around being used on these tiny screens, which either takes extra work or leaves big screen users screwed.
A smaller screen switch would basically be relegated to phone games, and all other games would lose a lot of detail to size
Came up in a discussion about it yesterday, “The loss of the potential is a shame, but the loss of a reality is worse”. You can argue that fetus is a potential life sure, but to sacrifice an actual in progress life with hopes and dreams is a waste, versus one that currently only knows instinct if anything.
Literally the reason I started regularly using Firefox
Yeah I want to emphasize this too. It doesn’t “require you to take debt”, it checks to see if you pay your debts on time. If you carry a $5 credit card bill and pay it next month that has a positive effect. If you don’t pay that it doesn’t matter how much it is, you missed a payment, that’s a negative. You don’t have to have a bunch of loans to have a good credit score, you have to pay your bills.
Thats why having a credit card can be good for your credit score because you are effectively borrowing money until the end of the month, then paying it back. That signals on your credit score “hey this person borrows $1000 a month, and pays it back every time. They’re a reliable borrower”
You are completely correct. The “happy path” or what to do if everything goes right is fairly straightforward for autonomous cars. It’s when it gets into exceptions or unexpected scenarios like this that it becomes a problem. It’s a car so you can’t just stop it in the middle of the road, but you cant tell it to ignore road signs either
Giga Chad as a concept is used by whoever wants to use it to justify anything they want by saying “'cause I’m a Chad”. In the same way that Chuck Norris did. 90% of the memes for each can be replaced with the other and lose almost no relevance. Someone can use a giga Chad meme to say “women’s rights are a joke” and the same for Chuck Norris. They can also say “defending the homies when they want to share their feelings to the bros”. I’m not saying the Chuck Norris memes are guilty free or whatever, but the giga Chad memes are far being used only for “making yourself a better person”
Linen cloth, time to start making bandages again.
He also has that “campaign contributor” money for healthcare. Grandma may be dead in a few hours after sitting too hard on a chair, but you better believe he is pumped full of every life prolonging, stem cell, rubber bones, heart pumping, illness treating, expensive drug to keep him fogging a mirror and hurting poor people.
The difference in end of life care between poor and rich people is drastic and it shows with stuff like this.
Plus it’s always the shitty ones that get lucky and live longer.
