1·7 months agoWell links are supposed to be just !community@instance.url, but for some reason people keep making it an actual markdown link which is not what you’re supposed to do. It’s like Reddit’s r/community. You dont need a markdown link.
It’s how you’re supposed to make links. I’ve tried a lot to fix people’s messed up links for them in photon, but it ends up breaking other stuff

2·8 months agoCurrently on Fedora. Pretty stable, but I really hate some parts:
- RocM just straight up doesn’t work for some reason? this is really annoying for AI and Blender
- No h264/265 decode support in mesa by default 😬
- redhat is now owned by IBM
- dnf is very very slow (I don’t mind this as much since I use the GUI software center and flatpak)
Otherwise
i hate .net with a passion and will spent the rest of my life hunting down the inventor

- Hey, thanks! The official community for Photon is !photon@lemdro.id (lemdro.id has helped a lot with the project and feedback, so I decided they should be it’s home.)
- To search communities and only communities, you can either press the globe icon in the navbar (which is better for searching just communities), or you can use the search button and filter by communities.
- To join a community in Photon, you can click subscribe in the explore page (globe icon) or you can go to the community, click the three dots at the top right, and click subscribe. (On a wide enough screen, the subscribe button along with community info will be on the right.)

No problem. Of course, you can always change the instance to something else if you dislike the default.

I never refused. In fact, it’s already been changed to lemm.ee
Piped is actually not a great platform for this because their embeds load the entire site

I regularly search for the term “photon” because I’ve found lots of people mentioning bugs and the sort outside the photon community.
That will also get the post url from the home instance itself which is needed to federate posts.
Ads for a platform with political views that despise them. Ironic
