Yea, fair point.
Yea, fair point.
I’m honestly blown away that Nestle stopped or reduced advertising. It seems like twitter is exactly the home for such a terrible company.
American here. I would encourage you to do so. I would not encourage anyone to visit the US for the next four years. Tourism is big for the United States. The only way we fix this downhill slide trump is taking is for it to blow up catastrophically in Americans faces. It’ll suck for us (and everyone of our allies he is targeting) but it is the only way we vote these morons on the right out and start a long road to try to fix the damage caused by the orange, wannabe godking. The senate race in two years is primarily right wingers (22 red vs 13 blue) who are up for reelection. I’m cautiously optimistic that the recession that trump causes will create a blue wave. That should lame-duck his last two years in office.
Got you covered!
“A 2013 global study on homicide by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime found that men account for an average of 95% of all persons convicted of homicide”
They can, but you are 7.5 times more likely to be murdered by a man.

There is no profit in securing customer data and there is no drawback for the company when data breaches occur. Without regulation, there will never be motivation for companies to give a shit.
They will apologize like Old navy does every few years for sweatshops, claim they really care and promise to improve (they won’t).
What the apology really means?
“Enjoy your free year of credit monitoring and fuck off.”
The fact that the President, who maybe some time in distant memory, didn’t choose judges based along political lines, chooses the Supreme Court judges seems crazy to me.
Why aren’t the best judges and lawyers getting together and electing them? I’m a scientist by trade, so I’m more use to a peer reviewed system. Nonetheless, I find it maddening that our election cycle realistically choses the highest court in America rather than those most equipped to make that decision. Who gives a fuck what the president thinks should be the next Supreme Court justice? I’d rather hear from the experts of the field choose who it is.
“We are reviewing our approach to handling student speeches and written statements at public events,” he continued. "We acknowledge that altering Ms. De Meyer’s speech may have compromised out commitment to open dialogue.”
Classic stuff. “We have been caught not doing anything close to our ‘commitment’ and now we promise to change.” Just be honest and say you don’t have open dialogue and you were lying the whole time.
I guarantee the next student gets the same treatment if it is a different situation.
“We obviously have tight security around any form of access to customers content.”
I agree on the Palestine genocide and it’s terrible the U.S. requires an ally in the Middle East so bad they are willing to overlook and contribute to what is happening. But everyone is funding China because everyone buys their products. I have tried hard to stop buying their products. It is challenging, and sometimes impossible, but I do my best. Anyway, I’ll stop derailing the conversation in an energy forum. Thanks for your patience and not deleting my posts, mods.
I wouldn’t find it annoying. I think it is important to remind the populace of the abhorrent things governments do, ESPECIALLY when they continue to do these things. The camps are still operational. So I’ll be happy to shut up when they shut them down.
While I agree that China pushing renewables is good, shaming them for a genocide doesn’t seem like an appropriate response.
If some guy in your high school beats the crap out of every disabled kid he sees, but on the weekends he hands out soup at a soup kitchen, should that person be celebrated?
Nice! Just think of the number of Xinjiang internment camps they could power! (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang_internment_camps).
Fun fact: NASA employees are unable to even talk with congressional representatives about proposed scientific missions because it is considered a “conflict of interest”. Let that sink in. Meanwhile…
Ukraine isn’t in the EU.
Samoyed!
She sure is!
Yea, I think it makes sense for them to stop if they are getting a return on their investment.
