Someone found a way to weaponise bikeshedding.

it’s a mechanism / not a computer,
It’s an analog clockwork computer.
there is no mystery, just clickbait as usual.
There’s plenty of mysteries about it, hence why it’s still a topic of study despite being discovered 120 years ago.
Surprisingly, the inspiration for the paper came from a YouTuber who has been attempting to physically recreate the ancient mechanism.
I was just re-watching clickspring’s videos about this yesterday.
That’s been on my wishlist for a long time.
Recently I’ve played a lot of demos from the Steam Next Fest. Before that I think I finished Heaven’s Vault, I can dearly recommend it.
Everyone just confirming aliteral’s point.
I guess it’s too much to ask the richest company on the planet to keep a list of a few accounts indefinitely. I’m sure that database is a whole gigabyte sized and maintaining it requires a whole person to check in on it once in a while. Obviously they can only afford that level of effort for a year or two. And we’re only taking about removing access from millions of people to something they paid good money for, and also doing it because. Yeah, I’m with you on this one, totally not their fault.
RaspberryBye.
Careful using the word efficiency there, as it has a different meaning when talking about solar panels - it indicates how much energy the panel can extract from the light hitting it. The best modern panels you can buy are below 25% efficient, and since these are from the 90s they were probably about half that when new.
They do, it’s pretty hard to get normal water to superheat, so OP’s use of the phrase “tends to” is definitely misplaced. IIRC the MythBusters did a segment on that and they used distilled water. I think also re-boiling water might increase the odds of it happening, but I’m not sure.
For me the year of the Linux desktop was 2014 - it’s when I changed my desktop to Linux after using it on my laptop for a year. All the hardware on that machine has been replaced, but it’s still running the same install from back then.
Well I believe if someone is benefiting from a common good, they should contribute to that good, but maybe I’m not Laissez-faire enough for this world, or “leftymemes”.
I mean that makes sense at least, because otherwise the adjacent neighbours will be having to pay more as they’re still heating their apparent. You do have to make some sacrifices when living in a block, that’s one of them.
People like to interpret things with a modern lense. The translation of his job title might be carpenter, and people then go “ok, what does a carpenter do nowadays - builds chairs and tables, right”. But the word being translated is more aking to “builder”, a construction carpenter, a mason, something along those lines.
I really like gnome the software, but I’ve started considering moving away from it after a decade simply because of how toxic and difficult gnome the project can be.
There are two ways you can do this on Android currently, but they’re not as quick. You can try to unlock with the wrong finger 5 times and it will stop allowing fingerprint unlocks. Or, you can hold down the power button for 10 seconds and the phone will reboot and also disable fingerprint unlocking.
I remember the clusterfuck that existed before systemd, so I love systemd.
By having the stupid idea of existing next to Russia (or a similar country).
If this was done by multiple people, I’m sure the person that designed this delivery mechanism is really annoyed with the person that made the sloppy payload, since that made it all get detected right away.
As they point out at the end, this wasn’t about the old control panel, but the new settings panel. It’s all brand new code.
