  • are you fucking kidding me?

fine, it’s not anti Semitic. it’s bigoted. is that better?? is this the hill you’ll fucking die on?

this is basically like you saying “those blacks sure are lazy” and i said “excuse me, that’s antisemitic”. fine, i might be an idiot, but you’re still a fucking racist asshole.

and you fucking ideological sheep reading this and playing along, caring more about politics and buzzwords than bigotry and hatred, or who the “real victim” is, you’re all complicit in the bigotry and hatred too. wake the fuck up from your ideologies and see people for who they are

  • I have a degree in philosophy and a degree in therapy and i promise the therapy part makes people way more uncomfortable than the philosophy part. I never really encountered weird attitudes about philosophy tbh. maybe it’s how I own it. I very earnestly live like a Socrates - Diogenes hybrid and try to make smart stuff sound dumb and safe to engage the community neurons. and my general excitement about it, if my philosophy background comes up, it’s from a place of passionate curiosity where we’re already talking about interesting shit and me using the ph word just makes them think “oh we’re about to get into it”.

it could also be the context with which ppl get to know me is more receptive to philosophical conversations. I genuinely believe that therapy is literally just a modern philosophy practice.

  • Jesus, what is all this? skimming it looks like half of it is a treatise on epistemology. you’re really going to focus on the data?

I’ve been on the fucking internet too, that’s the data. I’m speaking from my own experience in the shared world we’ve been in, like everyone always does. we at least are clearly on shared spaces.

so like, unless the trolls are all in your DMs, can we skip the text walls about data and skepticism and uncertainty principles??

The rest of your reply seems fairly good spirited but I’m not eager to read it when we start off with paragraph after paragraph of “what data”

I’m not telling you not to block people, I would recommend you double check what I wrote next time before spouting off like that. I said something closer to “you shouldn’t call them trolls”. I dont see you engaging with that point anywhere…

  • Cmon man, there’s two kinds of recipes: one with exact measurements and precise instructions, usually written in metric with a lot of notes and contingencies… and then there’s general guideline cheat sheets and refreshers, which you use when you already know how to cook it.

If a recipe tells me “a couple spoonsful” and I don’t know what to do, the problem is not the recipe, it’s that I don’t know what I’m doing.

So what do you do? you learn. or I guess you could be like NileRed and watch food burn in front of your face because you don’t want to deviate from the recipe. over and over again. but hopefully you’ll learn to deviate soon.
