Yeah, after they stick them with banderillas to scare and anger them into aggression. Without all the prep work to weaken and anger the bull, the cape wouldn’t provoke it at all.

Funny that you use those examples, since they’re both wrong. If anything, we should be running at the trolls with stinky socks because someone wanted to sound smart at a bar once and made up a factoid that spread like wildfire among the common folk.
Oh, sure, you could absolutely make a case for your character accidentally stumbling on the right answer simply because fire is a good weapon, and a good roleplayer could use that to their advantage to metagame a bit more acceptably, but there’s a difference between that and just automatically grabbing fire stuff because you the player know it’s good against trolls.
Eh, I know nothing about how to handle most dangerous animals, even ones that live in my area; I’d imagine that even in a world with trolls, regular people wouldn’t know anything about them.
If your character is a seasoned adventurer or monster enthusiast, sure, light it up, but if your backstory places you as the village baker for most of your life, running in with alchemist’s fire at the ready seems a bit strange.
Ultimately I’d consider it to be on the GM’s shoulders - if the only way your group is going to survive the troll encounter is with fire, then put an NPC in the local tavern who warms newcomers of a troll in the area, recommending that they have a lit torch at the ready.
Of course the answer is yes. They want the suffering. Everything else was just an excuse. They voted for the suffering of others, got the suffering of others, and are happy. Even if the price of groceries, gas, and everything else is higher, they don’t mind because they got what they really wanted.
Gotcha. Yeah, I try to tip based on whether or not the employee’s pay is being cut down due to the expectation of tipping. I can’t do anything to change the jobs that are already allowed to pay peanuts, but I worry that all of this rise in tipping prompts is to try to make a case that tipping is expected in places like fast food, and will be used to justify paying those workers even less as a result. You’re right that it’s a lot of work regardless, though.
I guess? I mean, they still follow my directions with what goes into the burrito, wrap it up nice with a sticker to keep it closed when they’re done, and ask if I want napkins and utensils if I’m ordering to-go. Seems like the same work but with a shorter time frame.
I’m confused. Wouldn’t ordering takeout at the counter also require the worker to ensure that the meal is correct, containers are properly sealed, and extra items like napkins and sauces are included? I’m not necessarily saying that those duties aren’t tip-worthy, but it seems to me that the only difference between ordering online or over the phone vs ordering at the counter is whether they hand you the food directly or put it in a pickup shelf.
Looks like someone had to put their q-tip on the first available surface for some reason, and somehow that surface was a step ladder?
Morf is a good way to introduce more mainstream-centric people to the sound of throat singing
Exactly this. Forgiveness is something you do when you’ve otherwise stopped the abuser. It’s not meant to be a tool to stop abuse. You need to stop the abuse by whatever means necessary, make sure it never comes back, THEN forgive the abuser and move on.

The only thing on their mind during this vote was about how many angry republicans in their area they’d have if they didn’t go along with it. They don’t want to go the way of Melissa Hortman.
I understand that this is a tumultuous time, and that being a major figurehead and pushing against the descent into fascism may put you on some crazed gunman’s hit list, but that’s what’s needed and expected of a good leader in times like these. If you can’t handle it, leave and make way for someone more willing to take the risk.

Stories are usually about notable events, which in a dystopian setting generally means the rare win for the little guy. It’s important to remember that if the apocalypse were real, none of us would be a hero; the day-to-day mundane life for non-extraordinary people would still be an inescapable hell.
I was with you for the first half, but then you went off the rails. Anyone who seriously brings up AI in the discussion for what to do after the revolution is completely deluded. You act like it’s a viable strategy with some issues, but really it’d be immediately worse than even Trump. Day 1 it’d hallucinate a war and try to release nukes around the world. As for the “better realities,” we only get 1 planet and 1 reality. To try to bury your head in the sand with some dream that an alternate reality version of us is doing okay is nothing but a cop out. Maybe another version of our planet is doing well, but we’re responsible for this one - it’s our duty to protect it.
Yes, when we overthrow the government, we’ll need to enact a new government to replace it, and yes, eventually that government will become corrupt and need overthrowing, too. When there exists a position of authority over others, evil people will inevitably worm their way in, but nevertheless, authority is necessary to have a functioning society. Governments are like clothes - you have to change them out every once in a while, ideally before they start to reek of filth.
