I use a filter on Mastodon so I can limit how much Elon Musk headlines I see. People love to talk about him, I mean here we are…but at least with the filter I can tune out the noise most of the time. It’s blissful. A shame there’s no filters (that I know of) on Lemmy to hide asshats like this. I already know Musk is a POS, I don’t need to see a dozen articles every single day to remind me…

I hate to be that guy, but actually it’s not just “greed” this time. There was millions of chickens that had to be culled due to a viral outbreak of Avian flu last season and we are just now seeing the effects of that. Don’t get me wrong greed does play a part, but the major contributing factor this time around for eggs is not greed, but the system rebounding from the outbreak. I know it’s trendy to say greed ruins everything (it can and does), but in this case it helps to have actual context to know what’s going on with the overall picture of things. The more you know, ya know.

Since you studied the Civil War, I got a book from my grandfather before he passed, Don’t Know Much about The Civil War, by Kenneth C. Davis, and was wondering if you’ve read of heard of this book and if it would be a good resource or not to read about the Civil War? Or if you can recommend another book or author that is great for learning about the Civil War, I’d appreciate any helpful insights as I’m curious to learn more about the Civil War, thank you.
