I feel like I didn’t appreciate this movie enough when I first watched it but it only gets better as I get older

1. The official Pixelfed app just has a nicer looking UI
2. There’s not really a competing app for people leaving Insta like there is Bluesky vs Mastodon
3. Pixelfed’s content is mostly visual so it’s easily digestible to casual users and you don’t have to scroll past dry Fedi arguments
4. Better discover features so users don’t have to do a bunch of legwork to find who to follow

Just my guesses though, but like any social media it really depends on if big creators will switch and if users stick with it over time

Ah the Uncle Max saga. I liked the attempt to flesh out the family tree and Calvin’s parents having another adult to converse with, but as far as characterization goes Max felt pretty flat. I can see why Watterson didn’t bring him back

A really minor thing, but I just love how Watterson does the shading on Calvin’s screams

Card Crawl/Card Thief/Miracle Merchant are good puzzle-like games

C’mon dude, cartoon animals doesn’t cover the amount of suspiciously similar Palworld color schemes and proportions we’ve seen compared to Pokemon like Cobalion/Lilligant/etc

I can only assume that the issue is that they’re trying to reduce the number of calls to the original instance. If you’re just scrolling by, you only see the post that’s cached on your own server, and it doesn’t communicate with the original instance until you open the post. Making it so that every time some scrolls by a post it contacts the original instance sounds like it massively increases the amount of traffic to the original instance which goes against the idea of software that supports smaller, self or community hosted servers.

And then they’ll cancel anything they didn’t spam the front page with and blame it on low viewership

Well, I don’t, this was just luck. These all came from a tree near my apartment that my girlfriend spotted. She noticed them when they were unripe and went out as soon as they were ready but she definitely had competition from the birds.

Edit: she mentioned that the tree was near the road by a bus stop, so the traffic may have kept them from eating too many of them

I feel like a lot of stuff like that is probably going to fall into the roguelike category. But as a fan of RPGs roguelikes always bug me because I need progression. Soulslikes such as Hunt the Night or Duel Corp might be better, but based on your description that’s probably too much on the action side and not enough on the rpg side
