When you are losing the College Democrats. I was a member of the college Dems for a bit, so this doesn’t surprise me that much. Mine were pretty much all in for Bernie except for a few. Ironically many of them are probably to the left of Bernie now on Palestine lol.

I remember saying on the Subreddit’s megathread around the time the 3rd burned down, that it felt like an early trial run. It’s coming up on 4 years, we are with clear eyes seeing the failures of the George Floyd protests, but have learned from them. It isn’t just state violence they have seen, it’s also the state co-opting movements. It does seem like many of the encampments are much more aware of what they are facing.

I’ve been really impressed by the Student Protesters. I am skeptical about campus activism because of the undisciplined nature of it, but this does seem to be different.

Until they make it into a culture war, it is never popular. I remember several conservatives, even Ben Garrison were horrified by what happened to George Floyd. However once it went into the culture war, this went away.

Probably. Austin does deadly exchanges with the IDF. Also the police have been on kinda a strike because the city council kinda doesn’t get along with them.
UT is also literally over purging DEI related positions because the state Government is saying so (small government my ass). From what I heard, orgs like the LGBTQ center are gone. As you said, it is a diverse campus which is really rubbing the salt into the wound .
