Even beyond the federation issues, that’s unfortunately the level of activity for HP on Lemmy at the moment. I’ve been trying to post there every few days, but I’m mostly the only one with @threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works

We can usually quite a few votes and some comments, but that’s it. You can maybe create a post there to promote your communities as well. The community still has 532 subscribers, all of them interested by HP, so you might find a few people into ships

Well, it’s a bit of both:

• I use alts as a way to have different feeds, feddit.org is the one for meta Lemmy discussions, lemmy.cafe for hobby topics, lemmy.zip for tech.
• I also have moderation alts that I use to avoid being too obvious as a mod. I think it generally gives a bad vibe when the single and only poster in a community is also the mod, and also it shows me as a normal user when discussing with people.

As you can guess, I’m well aware 😅 Thankfully most of the communities I mod are on Lemm.ee, so I only have to check that alt regularly, but that’s indeed an issue.

• lemmy.ca is Canadian-centric
• feddit.org, is German-centric (sidebar in German first, Matrix chat is in German, meta community is in German)

• blahaj is queer-focused
• discuss.tchncs.de has a difficult name
• lemmy.sdf.org does not defederate anyone
• lemmy.zip is federated with hexbear and lemmygrad
• beehaw is way outdated
• infosec.pub is topic-centric
• aussie.zone is country-centric
• midwest.social is region-centric

I ended up with discuss.online and sopuli.xyz as they have

• neutral names
• long running history
• good downtime
• active admins
• defederate hexbear and lemmygrad
