Maybe this is just my own solipsism / personal experience talking but I feel a lot of people through the 2010’s went from believing in horizontal movements to more Leninist style organizing. The people in this book, Rev Left, the old chapo sub, even DSA has increasing sentiment. Maybe we’re starting to see that manifest itself in more Union militancy rather than just vague protests.

At-will employment is the name of the game in the US. I wasn’t fired personally but I found out someone at my workplace was let go and I was caught off guard how immediately it took effect - never even got a chance to say goodbye.

A lib I was talking to after a few pints handwaved that fact away saying “yeah yeah yeah that’s just because they have universal healthcare”
