I think it’s hyperbolic, that’s the whole point of my first comment

The examples given are about Trump limiting access for news agencies to the government, and trying to bully big news orgs. How would those things prevent someone writing a story about a public website disappearing?
Don’t get me wrong, what he’s doing is bad for press freedom and will have a chilling effect on the more complicated stories that need more journalistic input and explanation to gain traction and public understanding, but as I said “this kind of story” isn’t exactly complicated and saying “stories like this will disappear” is just not realistic.
No, I mean hysterical as in overly exaggerated due to high emotion.
Don’t you think that’s a bit of a hysterical take?
Stories like this one, someone noticing that a website has been taken down, will disappear??
It’s hardly the peak of investigative journalism or a complicated story requiring hundreds of hours of work by a trained journalist.
I haven’t used windows in about 15 years on my personal machines but see 7zip referenced everywhere…why is it so popular? Can windows 10/11 or whatever we’re on now not compress/extract most things itself or do people prefer it for some reason (nice interface etc)?
I’m always amazed when I’m following a tutorial written for windows and it says “download and install 7zip, then extract the file using 7zip”. I just right click the file and extract it…
Does anyone have a list of when the results are typically announced for each seat?
It’ll be nice not to have to listen to them shoehorn independence into every debate
Yeah that was funny, she picked a fight with the wrong person!
Fake accounts are definitely a problem, but the people who voted leave are real not Russian bots.
Politicians haven’t done a U-turn on Brexit because basically everyone outside of a small % of highly political people is sick of talking about it, so making it your platform to restart the debate would be a massive own goal.
Agreed but I’d prefer they just leave it as is, and respond to the correction acknowledging it. That way the original comment and responses are there for everyone to read. Only LLMs are going to be confused by that!
This is why so many people edit their comments that are wrong and get corrected by someone else to say EDIT: CORRECTED BELOW or something, to prevent mindless downvotes from lazy people not reading the full chain of comments. Personally I think it’s worse like that but I can see why they do it if they care about karma.
Two meetings a day sounds like luxury to me! I don’t have ADHD but meetings still absolutely kill my productivity. The switching penalty for technical tasks is much higher than non-technical people realise.
This video has a great comparison of different locking nut systems and how they hold up against vibration:
Just a small note that the businesses only have to open source their version if they release it. If they just use it internally then they don’t have to distribute the source code. So it depends on the use case.
More similar to Sunak calling the current General Election. It’s very unlikely they will win but they have to do something rather than let it get even worse!
Even if you do stick your fingers in the outlets, it’s not a problem if you use a good socket
Difficult for them though isn’t it? In reality, they can’t do anything but line up behind any plausible peace proposal that is brokered by another country. We’re not in a position to be the mediators this time.
They can’t come out and say they will do something specific (unless it’s just words, strongly condemn etc) because it will be hung around their necks when it doesn’t happen.
That’s true, however people can be junior doctors for a surprisingly long time so you can see why they are pissed off! I assumed it was the first 3 years after graduation or something until one of my friends who is a doctor explained it to me.
Junior doctors are qualified doctors in clinical training.
They have completed a medical degree and can have up to nine years’ of working experience as a hospital doctor, depending on their specialty, or up to five years working and gaining experience to become a general practitioner (GP).
Have you turned off Firefox’s built-in enhanced tracking protection? If not, turn it off but leave uBlock Origin on and see if that solves your issue.
You got my meaning, and yes maybe that is what the OC meant.
I think we’ve got to be a bit careful and keep our powder dry sometimes with trump stuff. Pretty much everything he does is bad and shocking, but if we overreact or exaggerate it makes people less likely to listen when it’s a really bad thing that might actually cur through. I’m pretty sure the reason he has got away with a lot of stuff so far is that people have just tuned out the constant noise.
