I love DEVO, however I was definitely not aware of this. Mark Mothersbaugh added “We Smell Sausage” in reverse on several of his projects. It’s a nice little Easter egg considering the controversy of backwards masking in 70’s and 80’s music. Prince did something very similar at the end of Darling Nikki on Purple Rain.

Mark Mothersbaugh is an awesome composer & musician. His score for “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” is marvelous.
