For anyone interested in doing the same, use shreddit.com. This also deletes all your comments, posts and votes.
Have done the exact same, except I deleted all comments and posts (with shreddit.com if you want to do the same) and left only one post: a statement about the whole reddit API fiasco (and how it is unacceptable) and my lemmy username and instance. (Sorry for my terrible English, I’m not a native speaker)

I would go a step further and delete all your posts / comments that are informational / useful.

I deleted an 8 and 12 year old Reddit account with a combined 100,000k karma. Deleted all the content along with it.
Just did the same. Liberating.
Congratulations! it’s sad to see what they’ve done to Reddit… but fuck these greedy bastards. Lemmy is quite nice for now, except i haven’t seen any videos yet.
