the part that will destroy them, is trying to manage an occupation of a country on its own border. where the population is almost indistinguishable and hidden, Just like Russia deals with in Ukraine. the Americans didnt have the stomach for an occupation on the other side of the world where the culture was so different they might as well have been aliens, they lost to that.
