Apple moved from X to 11 and onwards
They never said X was the final version or converted the products into service models.
And the latest macOS has pretty much the same user experience as the original OS X, just with added features and whatnot. They didn’t do a massive overhaul like Windows does every release.
Most people don’t seem very happy with this “overhaul.” And frankly having poked around it, I’m not sure what they really improved.
Edit: also, Apple has made some pretty substantial changes to their OS the last few years, it’s very different from years past while still feeling familiar. IMO, that’s a UX skill. My favorite change lately is how easy it is to jump between devices now. Don’t even need a KVM switcher.
