    I really don’t see how the GOP wins the next presidential election. The whole party is in shambles right now and even with Biden not being very popular I don’t see them coming together behind any one candidate. Add to that that Trump might be in prison by then, it seem like a lost cause.

      It doesn’t have to be not in shambles in order for their voters to continue voting for them. Trump being in prison by then - God willing - may even be considered a feature-not-bug for those zealots. I’m taking nothing for granted.

      Two words: Electoral College.

      Biden will win the nationwide popular vote by millions of votes. But that means nothing; he could still easily lose the election. Thanks to the way the Electoral College works, the 2024 election will be decided by a few thousand votes in a small number of states (probably Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Georgia).

        Yes, the same electoral college Biden won last time. Trump is not more popular now than he was in 2020. The GOP as a whole is in much worse shape than back then. I just don’t see their path to victory.
