I just recently got into Stardew Valley so this had not passed my radar yet, looks really promising from the early gameplay video!
Seems to be a more “active” game while retaining a lot of the charm, which I’m all for 🤩

He does more updates on twitter @ConcernedApe but it’s still sporadic. Last update was in April and he said he’s taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on the new SDV update.

Life by You looked pretty rough last time they showed it, I hope they’ve polished it up a lot since then.

Armored core 6! I’ve been waiting ages for a new installment. I’m so hyped for it that I took some vacation days for it.

As someone who played the first one back in the original Playstation, I’m beyond excited to get back into it. The trailers and gameplay details that came out recently are a huge part of that, too.

Ever since I watched the presentation about Starfield, I’ve been absolutely eager to see if it’s really as good as it comes across in the presentation. I am a long-time Assassins Creed player and of course I am looking forward to the new Assassins Creed. I hope that the story has a bit more content again and above all that everything is more historical and less magical. But I’m actually looking forward to the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 the most. Despite all the justified criticism of Cyberpunk 2077, the game captivated me immensely and I had a lot of fun playing it.

Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 were ones that I always enjoyed trying to play when I was younger, but never seemed to be able to survive for more than a few minutes. So I’d give up in frustration. Maybe I should give them another go before 3 comes out.

You can get both of them for your phone for a few bucks as well. That’s how I played them for the first time and had a blast.

Talos principle 2. The first one was amazing. It’s also kind of funny to me that croteam pretty much only made boomer shooters, and then threw out one of the most philosophical puzzle games I’ve ever played. It’s like if after the transformer movies, Michael Bay decided to make 2001 a space odyssey, and then went back to making mindless transformers movies.

    Corepunk https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d2eSk5Etz7M

It was announced several years ago. The development team was based in Ukraine. Since the military conflict started, production has drastically slowed. Most of the devs migrated to Greece. Been getting updates, but sporadically.

I am still holding hope for its release. From everything I have read/heard about the game, I believe the developers are trying to make sure they release a quality product, therefore part of the “slow to release” aspect.

I haven’t played some of the recent games, but I liked the old format and look forward to Mirage’s take on it.

Number 1 for me are the Duke Nukem Collections for Evercade coming in November.

I played tons of duke3d as a kid so I’m excited to revisit it. But even more, I never got a chance to play the original DOS side-scrollers, so I’m pumped to get the new remastered versions. Even cooler that they’re the first Evercade exclusives.

I never played duke3d but I grew up playing the side scrollers. I didn’t know they were remastering those. Never heard of the Evercade and unfortunately another handheld isn’t for me.

However the VS looks like something I could install into my cars headunit along with my Roku for when I’m just chilling, and less maint. than my raspberry. Thanks for this post. I have something to look into here.

I’m a big fan of Evercade. “Plug and play” is a big part of their philosophy, there is definitely less messing around with the VS than there would be for a Pi or any other RetroArch thing one might create themselves.

If you’re okay with using Discord, I’d recommend dropping into the Evercade Discord if you have any questions or just wanna hang out - lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks (about Evercade specifically, or retro games in general), regular high score competitions, and it’s just a good vibe. You can find the link in the Evercade website if you’re curious.

I don’t think I could give an answer I wouldn’t walk back on later, I’m just happy to see such an interesting and competitive year for the industry. Really hope this trend continues.

The new Hellblade and the Cyberpunk DLC most of all. Talos Principle will be interesting at well even though I didn’t finish the first one, something got in the way

Great list. And the first Talos principle was great (DLC less so). Also the ending had a great build up to the end, but the actual end cutscene was a little meh.
