To add to the answers here: if you are “requesting admittance” due to the join button on this community saying “pending”, it is not due to not being admitted/accepted to the community, rather just a lemmy bug and/or the slowness of federation.
Once you join a community from another instance it takes a while to start seeing posts from a community if you are the first in your instance (server) to join a community.
