If you wanted to write a title that looked like a red flag you did it!
It’s literally the title of the video. 🤦♀️🤦♂️🤦
None of the parenthesis parts are in the title of the video 🤦🤦♀️🤦♂️
And? It’s clearly there for people who just read the title and jump to conclusions.
And it’s common practice to let people know there’s more in the body of the post as it’s not visible when scrolling.
Maybe learn how Lemmy works. 🤦🤦♀️🤦♂️This isn’t a Lemmy issue. Just write the title. Let people see if the sources are linked. People know they should watch before commenting. These are obvious things. Writing them out immediately makes me think I’m about to watch a conspiracy video.
The video is basically arguing that because you can technically control more things you can eventually make Android more secure due to freedom of choice. But most people won’t do those things. And you still get Google watching. It’s a dumb argument. And I say this as a big Android user.
you probably meant well with the thread but:
1- the title really is click-bait;
2- there is no tl;dr or anything that would give a more precise idea about what the video is really about other than “iPhone privacy bad”;
3- many of us are not going to watch a 17 minutes given the previous point.
the title really is click-bait;
Not really. If you actually watch the video, you’ll realize the title fits quite well to it’s content. It’s 17 minutes of comprehensive analysis and well supported arguments in favor of the claim in the title.
It even has sources in the description and gives annotations to said sources in the transcript OP was kind enough to link for us.
Also it’s literally the title of the video itself so go take it up with the YouTuber instead of some random just sharing the video.
