I doubt he’d admit it.
I think the US is kinda past that.

In completely unrelated news, German carnival season started last week.
A lot of conservatives literally kick out and/or disown their children for being gay. I wouldn’t call this “typical”.

Friends episodes are very self-contained anyway. There is very little context that can actually be missed if you skip forward. You can pretty much watch whatever amount of Friends episodes starting from whatever episode you want.

Not really. For most series, you miss important characterization, backstory and story elements if you skip ahead that much. For Parks & Recs, the first season doesn’t matter at all.
“it gets better after 35 episodes” generally implies that you have to actually sit through those episodes, or at least read summaries of them.
Imagine living with an abusive partner, or some kind of full-on modern slavery situation. If you can’t just flee (e.g. because it’s likely that they’ll come for you and abduct and/or kill you or your family), killing them might be the sensible course of action and needs planning, because if you were likely to win a head-on fight against the abuser(s) you probably wouldn’t be in that situation in the first place. Many jurisdictions will be relatively lenient in these situations, but you often still get a prison sentence.
And is it really that hard to imagine that your partner starts going Luigi? Harder than standard murder for immediate personal gain?

You can pretty safely ignore that first season, though.

Big fan of controllers that get all their power from cables. Fuck Batteries! Though I can see how that’s quite inconvenient when you’re playing on a couch instead of in front of a desk like me.
Strictly speaking, German names aren’t supposed to have articles at all! Though it is absolutely a thing in colloquial/dialect usage to say things like “Ich bin der Bart” (I am the Bart).
There is “der Bart” as in “the beard”. Which would be an interesting choice for someone beardless.

USA during WW2: concentration camp. Only for the Japanese, though, Germans were A-OK!

almost?

Application vs accepting an offer are quite different - an employer doesn’t need to know where you live if they aren’t accepting you and you applied online. Though it’s definitely the norm here in Germany to include the address on the application, too.

You could tell it to make a screenshot and use that as a background for the display manager. I use that for my lockscreen, it makes a screenshot of my current desktop and shows a pixelated version of that behind the lock symbol.
IDK what display manager is good for that kind of thing, though, I never particularly tried to customize mine - I usually just set it to log in automatically (I already need to enter my LUKS password to boot up, and I never use sleep mode).

Best thing about christmas is the sweets IMO. I’ve been buying the stuff for a month already, a lot of it is way better than the usual stuff.

goal post moving …

It’s certainly brown.

In specialized communities, maybe. But not on general platforms like comicstrips@lemmy.world.

Depending on where you are and what you look like, don’t do it in front of cops, though.

In which context is that common? I’m rather doubtful that most people reading this thread knew what it means.
Honestly, most games with a good/evil dichotomy (or even good/evil/neutral) just don’t make evil make sense, it’s always about senseless violence and backstabbing people like it’s a sport. Yet even people who would never kill the dog in a game usually still steal from commoner NPCs and often happily murder NPCs that were a bit of a dick to them.
