Cybersecurity@sh.itjust.works•Two major security vulnerabilities discovered in 7-Zip, affecting Windows usersEnglish
37·5 months ago7-Zip users on Windows are urged to update their software after the disclosure of two “path traversal” vulnerabilities, CVE-2025-11001 and CVE-2025-11002.
All versions of 7-Zip from 21.02 to 24.09 are at risk, and the sole mitigation is to upgrade to version 25.00 or later, where stricter handling of symbolic links resolves the risk.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Brazil's president has signed a ban on selling loot boxes to minors as part of a larger online child safety lawEnglish
601·6 months agoLooking into this it seems that lootboxes aren’t banned in the sense that would benefit the industry and players as a whole and will instead incentivize game developers and platforms to create age verification systems.
Brazil had the chance to outright ban lootboxes full stop and the fact that they didn’t take it is really disappointing.
