Yeah that’s why I don’t watch any documentary that is not actually documenting reality. They need a new word for shows like this.

3·7 months agoI was high on cannabis 24/7 for 20 years. He is going through withdrawal and it’s going to be tough for the first month. After that he will start sleeping better but still have really vivid dreams. Expect a short temper and irritability. Months 2,3 and 4 won’t be that bad. If he has anxiety issues like PTSD then just be prepared for the chance that stimulants will adversely affect that. Long term cannabis use also can cause anxiety. Good luck finding what works.

20·7 months agoI’m a senior dev and the amount of bullshit code that LLMs generate is just unacceptable if you are copy pasting. You should take the output as you would take a junior coders output and code review it the same way and then use your own version in the commit. Don’t be lazy to just use some of the ideas and completely refactor the output if needed. You will find that LLMs accuracy drops dramatically when you go from easy/common -> average/uncommon -> hard/rare problems. They also don’t care much for optimization.
Haha OMG this is perfectly on target

ADHD@lemmy.world•Literally cannot thrive without lots of physical activity, is this common?English
29·8 months agoThe body rewards physical excercise with dopamine and endorphins. ADHD people are especially sensitive to rewards. You are accustomed to that now and it’s your new normal. I think that you could readjust after a while if you stopped the physical activity but that’s your choice.

Stimulant medications can help with executive disfunction, and if that is something problematic in your life, having it go better can have ripple effects on the rest of your life, like for instance confidence levels, feelings of well being and happiness.
Anti depressants can help with mood fluctuations and anxiety.
Tranquilizers can help with panic attacks.
Depending on the country you’re from, a simple visit to a GP could yield some results, especially if your therapist is a registered psychologist and discusses a medication trial with your doctor.
As others have commented, there is no cure for the thing we call ADHD, and being medicated only helps with some things. You will still need to navigate the difficult parts of your life.
A change in mindset can have dramatic effects on anger issues and talking about sensitive issues. Learning how you work and communicating what you need (coping strategies) to your loved ones is important. If you haven’t already discussed coping strategies in therapy then I would go that route.
Personally, I identify with your struggles and although I don’t think I will ever resolve some of those difficulties, I have made good progress. When something sensitive comes up that I don’t want to talk about or if I feel anger, I say to my partner let’s revisit this topic later after I have had time to cool down and reason about it with logic instead of emotion. The time when the topic is revisited can be a few hours or the next day but not too long in the future.
Good luck friend.

I take the side of the admin. If someone can’t accept or understand that a cat eats a meat based diet then they deserve to have reality thrown in their face. Better than some poor animals being tortured.

Actually, even if you bred an apple tree with itself, due to the genetic recombination of recessive genes, the same thing happens. So it’s more complicated than 50% of the genes missing.

I was high for 20 years almost 24/7. I made some life changes and these days I get high maybe around 10 times a year. And those times that I do, its special and not just ordinary. Life is so much better when my brain can operate at a higher capacity. Not that I couldn’t cope while high - I was fine, but definitely not optimal, especially with short term memory. I guess if my job was not that demanding of mental clarity it would be a different situation.
