Re: inflation, growth in pure gross/intake has to increase to match the currency devaluation, and that can mostly be done by adjusting your prices in line with inflation. Employee count, market shares etc. can all hold steady, all else being equal.

I think Pod Save America said that Fox News was talking about very minor protests happening now at an ICE place in Portland - where there have been one to four people protesting - and showing both that footage AND footage of much more significant action from 2020, presumably without making it clear that some of what they were showing was from years ago.

Not sure it’s even possible to achieve being “completely free of corruption from moneyed lobbying”, but at least getting to a system where the legislature or whoever has the power and the will (if not absolute mandate) to continually evaluate the situation and combat corruption (sanctioning, suspending, or expelling violators; penalizing lobbyists who don’t follow the rules; amending the rules as needed to keep ahead of the problems).

There’s just not enough real consequences for any of these people failing to live up to the standards we should expect of them.

Well, usually. Sometimes they prey on their own, when the mood strikes.

I am sitting down and tried to feel out what control I could exert over this. I think I might have found it pretty quickly, because as I tried relaxing it it seemed like my posture was trying to change into “crumple via gravity”.

They get so close to putting the pieces together. One commenter said they were pro-union, because people can’t make as much money as they used to (“a janitor in the '60s could support a family, vacations, etc” to paraphrase the commenter). Kind of missing that unions and pro-worker efforts are a big part of why society had gotten to that point of wages, job security, etc.
